"You know, I might have been born so that I could meet you."
I remember the first time I saw kaworu, wasnt actually in the show but it was when I was in school and my friend found a keychain of him on the floor, we literally stole this keychain and we called it Dave because we didnt really know evangelion and then I reverse searched the keychain to find kaworu was from evangelion, I realized some girl in my year really liked evangelion so I gave it back to her and then we sorta became friends and she recommended me evangelion and the moment I saw Kaworu I was so hooked and hes been my favourite character ever since because I love him so much.
CHARACTER
Kaworu Nagisa is created in such a way that he presents the reader with a paradox as a character, he combines peace and discomfort. In evangelion, Hes a bridge between the intimacy of humans and the confusion of otherworldy beings. On the one hand, Kaworu represents calmness, gentleness, openness in his emotions. He providesl affection in a society where people lack connection and are torn apart internally, and that what makes him such a lovable and interesting character despite being an 'antagonist'. However, he is also purposely written to emphasise the fact that he never seems to be entirely "human".Therefore, sometimes his acts of kindness almost seem fake...? His character serves the purpose of pushing the quistion towards whether human connection can really truly be reached or if the illusion of it helps the characters sanity.
